Sanchar Saathi Seminar
The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Government Engineering College, Patan organized a seminar on “Sanchar Saathi – A Citizen-Centric Telecom Security Initiative” on 21/01/2026 to spread awareness about telecom security and digital safety among students. The seminar focused on introducing the Sanchar Saathi portal and mobile application launched by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India. The key objectives of the initiative, including protecting citizens from telecom fraud, improving transparency in mobile connections, and promoting responsible digital practices, were explained in detail. During the session, important services such as Chakshu for reporting fraudulent calls and messages, blocking lost or stolen mobile phones using IMEI numbers, verifying mobile connections, and identifying suspicious international calls were discussed. Students were also guided on how to access and use these services through the web portal and mobile application. The seminar emphasized the role of citizens in maintaining a secure telecom ecosystem by actively reporting suspicious activities and staying informed about digital threats. The event concluded with enthusiastic student participation and a positive response, making the session informative and impactful.
